The Dreamers
Still smelling the sweetness Fiona sat straight up in bed. Closing her eyes she still heard the music and felt sure the sparkling light she saw was shimmering wings. They were so clear she felt certain the pattern was printed on the back of her eyelids the glitter as bright as the blue eye shadow her mother sometimes let and Aimee wear before their baths.
Walking down the stairs Fi thought about how she and Aimee discovered they’d had the same dream. She wasn’t so sure it had been their best decision to tell their mom even though she listened patiently. When they finished telling her just about everything all she said was,
“Calm down. No more hot chocolate for you two so close to bedtime. Are you thinking you’ve got the sight or something? You’re reminding me of your Great Nana Jo. I don’t remember her well but what I remember best was her hugs…. Suddenly she seemed to slip away into here memories, almost as if Fi and Aimee weren't there… “I remember the church people … always whispering about her even though they didn’t know her. And the old priest… aye, he was one for the Book. crossin’ himself and the street if he saw her coming he would…”
Suddenly she was ‘back’.
“You two are two of the finest of Irish daydreamers you are. Listen to me— a dream is just a dream. As real as they may feel I’ve yet to have a Dream come true. Well, maybe yer' Dad is the exception! He’s still a dream! Now go pack! Tomorrow you’re off to the Grandpys’! And don’t be forgettin’ your books. You’re both behind on your summer reading assignments.”

The Dream
It was the second night she had the Dream! Rolling over to look at Aimee to see if she dreamed the Dream again. Aimee was awake and looking at her.
“You too?” Aimee asked.
“Yep. Me too.” Replied Fi.
“What if the 3rd time really is the Charm?”
"I hope it is…” Fi mumbled as she sleepwalked into the bathroom.————
Three minutes later she was back and shocked to see Aimee had made her bed and gone downstairs.
Muttering to herself.
”That’s weird. Aimee never makes her bed! What in the world is going on that 8-year-old brain? Doesn’t she know it’s summer? We had the Dream again… What does that mean?”
Still feeling the tingles, she walked to the window and snapped the lever in the way she knew would send the window shade flying! The instant it was high enough for her to see blue sky she burst out laughing. It was a magical day! The sun was shining bright in Ireland!
Suddenly an echo hit her.
“Hello? Hello? Who’s there?”
No answer.
Rubbing down her goosebumps, Fi opened the closet and took out her new sundress.
“If the Dream is true, then this is the perfect day to wear my new sundress!”
The echo came again. But this time Fi heard what the voice, a woman, said!
“Remember.“
“Hello? Hello? Who are you? Remember what? Who’s there?”
Fi turned in a circle, doing her best not to be afraid.
Rubbing down her goosebumps for the second time, she pulled her new dress off the hanger and hurried to get dressed.
“Fi! Hey lazybones” her Dad called up the stairs. “Are you up? Get a move on! You have to eat and It’s time to get this show on the road!”
“I’m up! I’ll be down in a minute Dad!”
After buttoning her sundress she walked to the mirror and seeing it glitter in the sunshine she knew today was the day to wear it. Her mom thought it was to wear to Kaidlyn’s birthday party, but Fi knew it was for something extra special even though she didn’t know what.
Looking in the mirror something bright caught her eye. Was it in her eye? The closer she got to the mirror the brighter the glitter in her eye got! Suddenly she felt like she was about to fall into the mirror!
“Whoa! What just happened? I don’t know but I know something special is going on today.”
Then, for the second time, she heard an echo, “Remember.”
Shivering she muttered to herself, “If only wishing was enough to make the Dream come true.”
The Grandpys
After a crazy morning they were finally on their way to Nana and Abba’s which Fi and Aimee thought was the best part of their parents ‘get-away weekends’! Nothing was better than sleepovers at the Grandpys, their favourite place in the world,.
Whispering in the back seat with the video on so their parents couldn’t hear what they were talking about, they agreed to tell Nana and Abba about the Dream. Maybe they would understand, and maybe, just maybe, Nana would tell them something about her mother, the great grandmother they never met. They also decided Fi would told the story and Aimee would fill in anything she forgot.
Later that afternoon they were all sitting in the garden, having lemonade and eating Nana’s special rhubarb and strawberry torte topped with vanilla ice cream.
“Okay, you two. Out with it.” Abba said, which made Aimee choke on a bite that was too big for her mouth anyway.
“What’s going on? Tell the truth. Fi, you’re glowing as bright as your dress is sparkling in the sunshine. Something tells me you two have a secret” said Nana.
“Yup” was all Abba had to say.
“Look,” cried Aimee! “A wisher!”
For a minute a dandelion wisher seemed to hover over the table before it floated away.
Fi took her last bite of the torte and began telling the Grandpys about the shared Dream.
Listening and watching Nana while Fi talked, Aimee wondered how on Earth Nana and Abba could be mom’s real parents. It seemed impossible that three people from one family could be, feel and think so differently.
Abba leaned over and whispered, “It’s just the way it happens sometimes kiddo”.
“What? Abba! Did you know what I was thinking?”
“Hush you two,” said Nana. “You might not see it but Fi has the Speaking Wand.”
“Whoa…. What’s going on? The Speaking Wand was in The Dream,” the girls cried out with one voice. This was another thing that seemed to be happening a lot lately.
Nana patted Fi’s hand and whispered, “All will be revealed in Time honey. Just finish telling us about the Dream.”
Telling them about The Dream felt like it was taking forever, probably because the Grandpys had so many questions.
“And you say you’ve had it twice?” Abba asked.
“Yes” they whispered at the same time. “Abba, when you worked in the forest did you ever see anything strange? I mean like really weird… like a fairy or leprechaun?”
“Well, I’ll be telling you this much for sure— I saw a lot of sparkly things that weren’t in any book I ever studied. But I can’t say that I know their names, where they live, or what they might be up to.”
Nana then asked, “Girls, to the best of your memory, was the Dream the same both nights?”
Aimee had just shovelled the last big bite of torte into her mouth so only nodded yer ‘yes’. Fi replied, “It was exactly the same. Two times Nana. Two nights in a row”
“Yes, that's very curious..” Said Abba, nodding his head as he finished his tea staring out into the garden.
Nana looked at the girls and smiled, “It is. Indeed, it’s a wonderful Dream, and Heaven knows the world needs it to be true.”
“Ask her about… you know… ask her about her Mom.” Aimee whispered.
‘Right.”
“Uh, Nana, Mom said something strange about your mom, Great-Nana Sara when we tried to tell her about the Dream. Why don’t you ever talk about her? Did she have dreams and maybe see things that others didn’t?”
One tear came to Nana’s eye, as she said, “Aye. She was something special. Sometimes she was like an earth angel and other times it felt like she lived on another planet. She always talked to flowers… many of her friends swore they saw the flowers move in a way that confined them the flowers were talking back. Once, when I was very young saw her hug a tree, and I know it hugged her back. And yes, she had many dreams. She had two special gifts; the first was she always knew when a new baby was on its way even if she’d never met the parents. And every time she knew the baby’s name before it was born.”
Again, it was with one voice that the girls asked, “What was the other gift?”
At that moment a wind came out of nowhere and as the wind chimes went crazy in blew a cloud of dandelion wishers right at them! Abba and Nana both started sneezing like mad!
Aimee gave Fi a look that said, ‘Well that was just spooky…
When the sneezing stopped Nana said, “And you know what they say…. The 3rd Time’s the Charm.”
Aimee dropped her spoon and was rudely showing food. Fi was speechless. Those were the exact last words they heard someone say to them in their Dream.
Abba then turned back to the table and said, “I’ve just been wondering what might happen if you two share the Dream again tonight especially since we just happen to have a Garden, a fence and about ten times more Sweet Peas than anyone needs. Sounds like we’re in a place that’s a curious match to the space your Dream took place in. Who knows, what with this being Ireland and you being my special red haired princesses!”
At that moment Fi saw a twinkle in her Nana’s eyes she’d never noticed before and she felt like her red hair was on fire. Suddenly she felt as if she was on the other side of wondering, thinking, “What’s happening on Earth is going to be happening in Ireland. I just know The Dream is about to be coming true.
4 Morning bright
Running down the stairs Fi did her sliding trick across the slippery floors, crashing into Abba for a morning hug!
“Morning Abba! Whoa… I mean wow. You’re making breakfast?”
“Indeed, I am!”
Fi opened the cupboard and pulled out a box of granola because while Abba did everything best there was one thing he couldn’t do and one thing he didn’t do —he couldn’t cook and he didn’t barbecue.
As she opened the refrigerator to get the almond milk, she asked, “Where’s Nana?”
“Fi. You must still be asleep because you remember everything! She’s gone to the train to pick up her friend who’s come to stay at the summer house. They’ll be here soon.”
A few minutes later Fi heard Nana’s car pull into the gravel drive and she went racing to the front door and when she heard Nana call out ‘I’m back!”
As she raced to the front door, thinking it was worth letting her cereal get soggy, Fi slid to a stop on the slippery floor. It was true!
Standing next to Nana was the woman with white hair from The Dream! While she knew she didn’t know her, she knew she knew her from the Dream and when Fi turned and saw Aimee sitting on the stairs staring at the woman, her eyes and mouth wide open, she knew it was true.
Nana looked at them with a funny look on her face and then spoke, “Gwyneth, these are our granddaughters, Aimee and Fiona.”
Both girls were still and speechless.
“Okay you two, wake up and shake it out” said Nana, "One thing you’re not is shy!”
Aimee and Fi stood up and shocked their Nana even more, when they wrapped Gwynn in a group hug.
At that moment, Abba came into the hall and grabbing Aimee’s hand Fi led her quietly out the back door into Nana’s amazing garden.
“Can you believe it?” Aimee whispered?
Fi nodded, saying, “The Dream came true. I saw the Deva in her hair.”
“Me too! She’s really here. If she’s here, it’s True and it’s Time. We have to follow everything from The Dream.
“Yes. You go to the South fence and I’ll walk the West.
Together they held hands and whispered the words they memorised and promised to never forget:
“Walk gently on the Mother.
Pay attention to self and other.
Pause and very carefully listen.
Pick only blossoms who glisten.
Look with the eyes of your heart
And then remember your part.
When you open your mind
Trust the Light that you find.
This is truly The Day
When the world finds its way!
As joy opens grace
We discover our place
Sing the song that’s begun
And we remember we’re One.
At just that moment a breeze came up and all the Wind Chimes in Nana’s garden began to sing. After a hug, Fi and Aimee turned and went to their assigned places where they each carefully picked a beautiful bouquet of sweet peas both listening carefully while looking for glitter.
in the QUEENDOM TOISE
The Dream makers
Very close to the human toise is another dimension. They share the same space but the difference is those who live there are on another track of Time. What was Happening in that world was just as wild as what happening in Fi and Aimee’s world!
The Wise Ones watching over Earth had been feeling the chilly shadows lurking around their hearts for some time. They also heard them whispering loudly in the wind as if no one was listening. But the day they saw them they knew it was Time to tell Gaia’s humans where to find the secret stash of Stardust and Sparkle. The last time the Shadows rolled in it became so hard to hear the Song that the Light almost went out and they knew it was urgent to store an emergency stockpile of starstuff for the next time the Darkness menaced Gaia.
Knowing change can happen fast they realised all the Elementals had to get to the hearts of Gaia’s human children fast! Just as they were about to summon Trino to have the Newt Arc Tribe clear the way for Rainbow Paths to every point on the planet an earthquake rattled the Hall of Wise Ones and broke the Bubble of Stillness.
Picking themselves up, they looked around as the lights flickered off and on. There, scattered all over were the Chiefs from all Eight Realms. They had crashed through the Veil of Silence. Clearly, the Trouble brewing on Earth had boiled over!
It was no surprise that The Eight had entered their UniVerse, but their tears and everyone talking at once brought a chaos that had to end!
“Stillness”, the Wise Ones lovingly whispered with One voice.
The Hall immediately went as quiet as it ever gets in any realm in the Queendom. The reason there was still sound was because starstuff can never really be quiet! Even in the stillness, space and time are filled with Music that sounds like the soft tinkling of bells and the whisper of falling snowflakes and raindrops.
“So tell us, what on Earth is going on?!” Said #7.
“One-at-a-Time’, The Mother reminded them as she called the Circle where The Grand Father waited to speak.
When everyone was in place, he handed the jewelled Speaking Wand to Wyndham, Ambassador for Gaia’s Global Emissaries, reminding her, |Please remember to speak softly so we can all hear and understand.”
Wyndham spoke softly and firmly.
“It’s horrible. The air is too hot. The snow is melting faster than ever and the rocks are breaking. Fintan and the Wave Tamer Family are working overtime to rescue members of my family who are falling from the sky. Seiko and the Gate Keepers are doing a heroic job to make room for us but with our worlds disappearing the problem is where most live it’s just too hot for how we’re made. It’s Time and we must come together and figure out how we can best help humans who share our home.”
Karma, Guardian of all Gaia’s realms was next and reached out to give Wyndham a hug before accepting the Speaking Wand.
“So few humans do what they say they will. This makes a big noise in their heads and then it’s hard for them to hear and see us like they use to. Fear and sadness have taken over, and so many are lonely and don’t feel like they belong.”
Next it was time for Noe, Chief Time Shifter to share what their realm was experiencing. Once again, The Grand Father had to remind everyone to quiet down. Fast-moving rainbows began to fill the Conclave Hall.
“Time is speeding up in every dimension and humans don’t understand. They think they’re alone! We have to help them remember that time is the BIG connection. If they don’t stop short-circuiting the LINX, we’re all going to be in BIG trouble fast.”
Noe then handed the Speaking Wand to Devan, Chief Space Bender.
“While The Promise is has been bent and twisted, the good news is it’s not broken beyond repair. Many are suffering but it is possible to heal. Yes, people are being hurt but scars seem to help humans remember. We can help them remember so they can be and do what we must do.”
As Niko, Commander of the Universe’s Light Lifters accepted the Speaking Wand from Devan sparkles began to zip around the space.
“Yes, we can help humans stabilise the Light. We can teach them the Song but my question is, will they Sing it?”
The next to accept the Speaking Wand was Fintan, Chief Wave Tamer.
“The lakes smell sick and the rivers can’t breathe and this is making our seas and oceans sick. The dolphins, whales and coral are dying so fast… if they can see us and hear the words to the song I’m sure they can sing them back to life. As hard as it is, the elixir we need to gather right now is the tears of the children because this is the only way their hearts can turn the Light on bright.”
As a waterfall of tears fell to the floor, Fintan passed the Speaking Wand to Seiko, Chief Gate Keeper to all Physical realms and realities.
“It’s true. The mountains are breaking. Around the world, our oldest stone circles are being broken or falling apart because humans don’t remember. We must do whatever is needed so humans hear us. We must give them a reason to care and share again!”
Finally, Seiko handed Sabriel, Chief Bringer, the Speaking Wand.
“The shadows are looming. Humans can’t see us and many cannot see the stars. Sometimes we have a hard time hearing The Sun’s Song which means all Gaia’s Queendom is suffering. Smells and noise are making everything weak. People who used to be wise are now stupid because of some weird waves that stop them from talking to one another. The Bees are in real trouble and as a result, many of our homes are wilting. It will take all of us to help Gaia’s humans renew their starstuff!”
Sabriel put down the Speaking Wand and as the Mother stood to speak there was a loud knock at the Door that sent cosmic thunder rolling through the Hall.
Doing his job Seiko got up and cautiously opened the Door and stepped outside to talk to whoever was there.
A moment later he returned and everyone knew something big was about to happen.
“Uh…. Uh… Mother? We have a guest. She has requested to speak with all of us.”
“Invite Her in Seiko”, the Mother replied with a deep tone that sent an echo of love rolling through the hall.
As Seiko opened the Door in walked an angel!
“Uh oh”, Devan whispered to Karma. “I think Earth’s crisis has gone Cosmic.”
Obviously, The Wise Ones knew this angel and welcomed this amazing being of Light to the meeting, immediately inviting Her to speak.
“The Heavens just met and sent me to deliver a message, and it isn’t tidings of great joy. Heaven is handing Earth over to you because the Angels have called a strike. They won’t join you until enough humans have cleaned up themselves, their tone, words, and actions and are ready to cooperate so Gaia can be in full Harmony with the rest of Laniakea.”
Sparks started flying as thunder rolled even louder than before.
Again the Wise Ones whispered, “Stillness.”
