Emergence
I long ago lost count of how many paintings have actually ‘lived’ on this canvas, a project that actually started in 2001. It seems impossible that I’ve actually hauled it from Denmark to Switzerland to Spain over the years.
In 2019, I found it wrapped in the storage area under my bed and realised it was time to get it out and see what was there.
When I opened it to the light of day, I was greeted by a rose that, in my imagination, was wilting.
Emergence appeared became a touchstone! Completing her was a reminder that while we’re all a work in progress, transformation is a choice that’s in our hands.
