Growing a realationship requires a mutual and unwavering commitment to communication. Only by courageously delving into the core of who the other is and openly dialoguing do they discover whether they share the life-affirming values that determine one’s quality of life.
When the possibility of a realationship is tangible, expressed and reciprocated, individuals must willingly open their hearts to discover if their diversity is rich enough to weave a tapestry of one accord that is grand enough to cover and warm them both.
A true possibility for a realationship occurs at an intersection in space and time. When energy resonates in and between whole individuals, the potential for connecting emerges. Within this field, attraction forms as a coherent pattern in which two might determine if the connection has all that is essential to mutual growth.
On January 15, 1987, I experienced bliss during my first NDE. When they resuscitated me what I experienced was being dragged from joy. With my fists literally windmilling, I returned kicking and screaming back into a life where the only emotion I felt was anger. Three weeks later my heart stopped again, but during this time out I was presented with the choice of a lifetime— I could return or I could remain.
There’s no way to explain how much I wanted to return, and very few understand why I stayed. February 7th is the anniversary of making that intentional choice, and the day opens with asking myself if I have the clarity, courage, and will to continue. Last week, a time when it felt like the Light was dimming prompted an instant “Yes” because I know that in the darkness even the smallest light is visible.
The quality of our lives depends on the choices we make. When we take an ill-considered decision there’s no guarantee that we will get a 2nd chance.
What will you choose today?
